Intra-oral Cameras

Intra-oral Cameras – a picture is worth a thousand words

As a complement to our other technologies…

Intraoral cameras are proven tools providing patient awareness and education. The pen-like instrument is attached to our monitor, providing an inside view of your mouth, making dental exams more comprehensive and interactive. During the course of treatment you work with our team to improve your oral health and explore clinical solutions to problems found during routine exams. The intra-oral imaging can also reveal areas of the mouth that are more prone to plaque buildup so that you can concentrate your efforts on that area.

A sterilized small probe shaped camera is moved around the inside of your mouth. This provides you with a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth so you can see them enlarged in living color on our computer screen in the treatment room. We can freeze and store the picture of the inside of your mouth for a bigger and better look and then take an instant photograph for you and your records.

Other Advantages to Intra-oral Cameras

This painless, no radiation technique allows you to see problems such as worn-out, defective fillings, fractured teeth, decay, bleeding gums and plaque. Together we can discuss your treatment plan with you for restoring your mouth to optimal health.

Similar to our digital x-ray system where we deliver the image right to your chair, the benefit allows you to better understand your dental needs by actually seeing what we see. It also allows us to see problem areas that could easily be missed with just a visual examination. It helps us monitor progress on your treatment.
